Springfield A.M.E. Church Leadership

Springfield A.M.E. Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.

Rev. A. L. McGlockton, Sr.

Senior Pastor

Pastor McGlockton was appointed to serve as Springfield A.M.E. Church's Senior Pastor in March 2017. Prior to that, he served as Pastor of Jerusalem A.M.E. Church in Marianna, Florida as well as Assistant Pastor and Associate Minister for a number of A.M.E. churches.

Rev. McGlockton comes from a long line of A.M.E. ministers and pastors. He believes in the power of the word of God to save, deliver, and set free. Pastor McGlockton believes in strong preaching that reaches the mind, touches the heart, and changes lives. He has expressed a burning desire to lead a church like Springfield A.M.E. Church where biblical views are embraced and encouraged, with members who care about the needs of those around them and who want to connect others to the body of Christ. Pastor McGlockton takes worship and preaching very seriously through prayer, bible study, and meditation.

He graduate of Florida A&M University, Vanderbilt University, and Duke University where he earned his Master' s of Divinity Degree.

Pastor McGlockton is married to Rev. Joan Belle-McGlockton. They have three sons: Aundra' Jr., Kevin, and Joseph. They have been blessed with four grandchildren.

Rev. Joan B. McGlockton

Co-Pastor

Pastor Joan has served as Springfield A.M.E. Church's Co-Pastor since March of 2017. Prior to that, she served as Pastor, Co-Pastor, Assistant Pastor at numerous AME Churches within our Denomination.

The attributes which best describes Pastor Joan as a Pastor are her strong preaching, a passion for women's ministries and pastoral counseling. She has expressed a burning desire to develop the women's ministry that address the needs of women here at Springfield and in our communities. Reverend Joan takes her service to the Lord very seriously, through prayer, bible study, and devotion. Prior to accepting her call to ministry, she served as Missionary President, Vacation Bible School Director and Sunday School Teacher.

A graduate of Vanderbilt University, (M.Div.) with an emphasis on pastoral care and counseling. Additionally, she holds a Master’s Degree from Lipscomb University in Education, ( Administration). Pastor Joan is bi-vocational, and has served as a Resident Chaplain, (VA Hospital, Nashville, Pastor Joan completed Leadership Program for Aspiring Principals , University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.. For the past thirty years, she has served as a public educator . Her experience range from being a classroom teacher to serving as a high school principal. Pastor Joan’s work in the church mirrors her work in the private sector.

Pastor Joan is married to the Reverend Aundra' McGlockton, Sr. They have three sons and four grandchildren.

Rev. Linda Battles

Associate Minister

Reverend Battles received her calling to go out and preach the Word in 2007. She preached her initial sermon in March of 2008 and was admitted to the Florida Annual Conference on August 14, 2012.

She was ordained Itinerant Deacon in the African Methodist Episcopal Church on September 11, 2014.

Serving as a member of the Springfield A.M.E. Church ministerial staff, Reverend Battles completed the training in Evangelism on January 21, 2012. She then chaired the Singles Ministry and the Outreach Ministry at the church. Reverend Battles presently serves as Associate Minister on the Springfield AME Church Staff in Gretna, Florida.
